Dr. Stephen Weiner is a third generation veterinarian, and has been our hospital’s Chief of Staff for over 35 years. He is currently the Chairman of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and is a former President of its local chapter, the Metropolitan NJVMA. Through these organizations he has taken part in numerous animal welfare and veterinary medicine initiatives, making his extensive compassion and knowledge highly sought after.
Born and raised in the Livingston and West Orange, NJ areas, Dr. Weiner graduated from Livingston High School in 1964. He continued on to earn his undergraduate degree as well as his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University, following in both his father and great uncle’s footsteps. Dr. Weiner’s special medical interests include internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Weiner spends his leisure time playing in softball and football leagues, and spending quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and toy poodle, Coco Chanel (whom he had no say in naming).
Fun fact: Dr. Weiner’s father was one of Metropolitan NJVMA’s founding members, and Dr. Weiner attended the organization’s very first meeting at 5 years of age!
