Stephen Weiner, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Stephen Weiner is a third generation veterinarian, and has been our hospital’s Chief of Staff for over 35 years. He is currently the Chairman of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and is a former President of its local chapter, the Metropolitan NJVMA. Through these organizations he has taken part in numerous animal welfare and veterinary medicine initiatives, making his extensive compassion and knowledge highly sought after.
Born and raised in the Livingston and West Orange, NJ areas, Dr. Weiner graduated from Livingston High School in 1964. He continued on to earn his undergraduate degree as well as his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University, following in both his father and great uncle’s footsteps. Dr. Weiner’s special medical interests include internal medicine and surgery.
Meghan DeBiasio, DVM
Dr. Meghan DeBiasio joined the Livingston Animal Hospital team in June 2011. Born and raised in Lincoln Park, NJ, she earned her undergraduate degree from Cook College, Rutgers University. She then received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in Alabama.
Dr. DeBiasio's special medical interests include dermatology, nutrition, surgery and the special health concerns of brachycephalic ("pushed in face") breeds. Before graduating from Veterinary School, she completed an Internship at an English Bulldog-focused practice, and continues to bring her specialized knowledge and enthusiasm for the breed to the team here at Livingston Animal Hospital. Dr. DeBiasio spends her leisure time exercising and spending quality time with her English Bulldogs, Gracie, Juno and Belle.
Kara Schubert, BVMS, MRCVS
Dr. Kara Schubert joined the Livingston Animal Hospital team in December 2013. Originally from Albany, NY, she earned her undergraduate degree from Boston University. She then "hopped the pond" to receive her veterinary doctorate and membership in the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.
Dr. Schubert's special medical interests include cardiology, ultrasound, and exotic pet medicine. In addition to fluffy, four-legged pets, she especially enjoys providing medical care to birds and reptiles. Prior to joining our team, Dr. Schubert spent over a year honing her exotic medical skills under the mentorship of a highly respected exotics veterinarian in southern New Jersey. She is now a member of the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians, and looks forward to bringing this specialized service to our hospital.
